Bulgur is a traditional Anatolian ingredient. It is therefore not surprising that GreenAge's bulgur is made in Turkey's southeastern Anatolian region of Gaziantep. The farmers' cooperative - led by farmer Ibrahim Karatay - grows hard (durum) wheat and processes it itself. They break the grains instead of grinding them (which is usually done). This produces a nice coarse bulgur with a firm bite. Steaming the bulgur in advance guarantees that optimal nutritional value is preserved - bulgur is rich in fiber and essential minerals such as zinc, chromium & magnesium. It also ensures that all you need is some boiling hot water to turn the daily passion of our farmers into your base for a delicious meal. You can use bulgur as if it were couscous or make a surprising risotto with oriental flavors!
